My Faith
I am a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, I am the oldest son of parents who were converts to the Church. I served as a missionary in the Chile Concepción Mission from 1990 to 1992, and I married my high school sweetheart, Julie, shortly after I returned in the Atlanta, Georgia Temple. Married for over 30 years, we are the parents of two adult children, grandparents of one, and live in Frisco, Texas.
In my Church service, I have served as a Bishop, Stake High Counselor, Stake Sunday School Presidency member, Stake Communication Specialist, Elder’s Quorum President, ward Young Men’s President, Ward Sunday School President, and Seminary Teacher. I am currently serving as an ordinance worker in the Dallas Texas Temple.
In the community, I have served on the board of Frisco Family Services, a non-profit focused on helping those in need. I also serve as a member of the interfaith council for our area, where I enjoy finding commonalities among all people of faith.
My Leadership
I am a Managing Director the the Transformative Strategy lead at Alvarez & Marsal, a leading global professional services firm specializing in advisory, consulting, and turnaround management. As a transformative healthcare strategist, I empower health systems and their leaders to achieve a sustainable competitive advantage. I am also an Adjunct Professor of Strategy and Marketing in the graduate Healthcare Administration Program at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas.
I served as the former System Chief Strategy Officer of Texas Health Resources, a ~$5 billion integrated health system in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. My strategy journey began with the Boston Consulting Group (BCG), where I was a core member of BCG's strategy and healthcare practices. I also spent time in BCG’s private equity practice, working closely with some of the country’s largest PE firms while working on Wall Street.
I am a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and am a Past President of its North Texas Chapter.
Our shared faith
In more than thirty years of marriage, we have experienced some of life's most joyous and heartwrenching events. We co-authored our books to share our experiences with God's hand in our lives. We hope our stories of faith help inspire you on your life's journey and bring you hope and healing as you seek God's help and guidance.
